Revolutionary origami concept made of solid material
The nortik fold completely redefines the concept of folding boats: it consists of a single solid panel that can be unfolded in origami style within a few minutes to form a ready-to-use kayak. In contrast to conventional hollow chamber panels, nortik relies on the exclusively developed solid material "nortilen". This robust mixture is extremely tough, cold-stable, and UV-resistant. Since it has no hollow spaces, there is no risk of misfolding or water accumulation in the material, making the boat particularly durable and low-maintenance.
Other origami boat manufacturers content themselves with a hollow-chamber sheet. While this has a low weight, it is vulnerable. A wrong fold when collapsing can lead to breakage of the hollow-chamber webs, which noticeably affects stability. nortik is the only manufacturer to rely on solid material. The result is a fairly stable boat hull that is strongly reminiscent of a hard-shell boat.— Kajak-Magazin
Maximum mobility and ecological responsibility
Whether as a sporty touring kayak (4.2) or a compact single kayak (3.8), the fold is the ideal solution for paddlers without storage space or a garage. It can be folded thousands of times and fits comfortably in the included backpack stuff sack. In addition to its practical handling, the concept impresses with its sustainability: production is resource-efficient and the material is completely recyclable at the end of its life cycle. A modern recreational kayak that perfectly combines flexibility and environmental awareness.
Product advantages at a glance:
-
Ultra-compact storage: No storage space required; after your trip, the boat simply disappears into the included pack bag.
-
Innovative nortilen material: Robust solid material without cavities, which is extremely resistant to misfolding and dirt.
-
Unique origami technique: Lightning-fast assembly from a single panel – no individual parts or complicated rods required.
